A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was molested by a youth after an accident at south-east Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin, police said on Friday.
The victim, who lives with her husband at Nizam Nagar, said she was with her aunt Halima when the incident took place around 4 pm on Thursday.
She said she was travelling on a moped to drop Halima at her Hazrat Nizamuddin house when the moped was hit head on by a motorcycle, driven by Amir Khusro Park resident Hasin, near Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, she told police.
The women fell on the impact, and blamed Hasin for the accident.
The three then had a heated argument.
Misbehaved
It is alleged that Hasin then misbehaved with her, and pushed Halima to the ground when she tried to interfere.
“She also alleged that Hasin tore her clothes,” a police officer said.
Hasin claimed that he was a ‘bad character’ of Hazrat Nizamuddin police station and threatened the women with dire consequences before leaving.
The woman said Hasin also threatened of attacking her with a blade and implicating her in a fake criminal case.
Hasin fled from the spot when she raised an alarm and local people gathered.
A case of assault to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and criminal intimidation has been lodged over her statement with Hazrat Nizamuddin police station.
