Five killed in bus-car collision

Five persons, including four of a family, were killed on the spot when a KSRTC bus rammed the car they were travelling near Veeranapura gate on the Bangalore-Nilgiri national highway, on Saturday.

Ashok (38), a farmer of Hasagooli village in Chamarajnagar taluk had purchased a new car recently.

He had been to a temple along with Sonu, his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and two children of his brother - Vybhav (5) and Yeshwant (1). While returning, he picked up Vijaya, the wife of his brother and Boramma, an aged woman who requested a drop.

The accident occurred when a speeding KSRTC bus, bound for Calicut, rammed the car. All the five except Vijaya, were killed on the spot. A seriously injured Vijaya has been admitted to a private hospital in Mysore. Senior police officials visited the spot.
