Mangalore notified as international airport for cargo ops

Central Board of Excise and Customs, Ministry of Finance, has notified Mangalore Airport as international airport for the purpose of cargo complex.

With this January 31 notification, air cargo operations can now be undertaken at Mangalore Airport, an official release said today.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, M Veerappa Moily had earlier taken up the matter with the CBEC for notifying Mangalore Airport as Customs Airport under the provisions of Section 7 of Customs Act, 1962 for the purpose of "unloading of baggage and the loading of baggage," it was stated.
