JOIN US A lecturer at a private college here was assaulted by parents and relatives of a girl student, on charges of alleged sexual harassment, on Tuesday.
Sudeep, a Mathematics lecturer at People’s Park Girls PU College in Nazarbad, is alleged to have misbehaved with a first PU student.
The girl, who was upset, abstained from the classes for 15 days. She also skipped the examination scheduled on Tuesday. When questioned by her parents, the girl recounted harassment by her lecturer.
Enraged over the episode, the parents accompanied by a few relatives headed towards the college and bashed up Sudeep.
The lecturer was on exam duty when the incident happened. He was rushed to K R Hospital for treatment by his colleagues.
Sudeep’s colleagues, however, have rubbished any such misbehaviour with the student.
“The girl has fabricated a story in a bid to escape appearing for the examination,” they alleged.The girl’s mother has filed a complaint with the Nazarbad police station.
