On the occasion of ‘Women’s Day’, Hard Rock Café, St Mark’s Road is holding a week-long celebration till March 10. You can dance to the tunes of women rock stars that will be played by the DJ. Foot-tapping music of Madonna, Tina Turner, Avril Lavigne, Courtney Love and many others will be played.

Vocal delight

Sursagar is presenting along with Alliance Francaise a vocal concert by Omkar Dadarkar on March 8, 6.30 pm. This is part of the ‘Music Discourse’ series. The venue is Alliance Francaise.
   He will be accompanied by Gurumurthy Vaidya on tabla and Ashwin Wal­avalkar on harmonium.

Women composers

As part of ‘International Women’s Day’, a musical programme called ‘Women Composers of India – Celebrating the Unsung, Songs in Eight Languages’ will be held on March 8, 6 pm at Bangalore International Centre, Teri Complex, 4th Main, 2nd Cross, Domlur II Stage. Concept, script and narration are by Sakuntala Narasimhan. Archana Udupa will sing on the occasion.


Sree Ramakrishna Bhajana Sabha Trust is organising Kalotsav 2013 till March 17 at Odukathur Mutt Hall, Gangadhara Chetty Road. The different artistes at the programmes are Mysore Nagaraj, T M Krishna, Visakha Hari,  Abhishek Raghuram, P Unnikrishnan and Bombay P S K Murthy and party among others. Jazz concert

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is holding a jazz concert called ‘Tihais & Trumpets: Big Band goes India’ by Phoenix Foundation (Jugend Jazzorchester Rheinland-Pfalz) and conducted by Frank Reichert. The special guests for the concert are R A Ramamani (vocals) and Ramesh Shotham (percussion). The concert will be held on March 7, 9 pm at Opus, 4, 1st Main, Chakravarthy Layout, Palace Cross Road.
