Seven rape cases were reported in the national capital during the last 24 hours, police said on Wednesday.

Six of the eight victims were minors, one of them eight years old. Some of alleged culprits were also minors.

The barrage of rape reports came on a day when statistics for January-February 15, disclosed in Parliament, indicated that there were on an average four rapes in a day in Delhi.

A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men in a moving car at north-east Delhi’s Welcome locality. The victim was found unconscious and rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. She told the police that she had met one of the accused during a  job hunt. “She was called to the Zaffrabad Park on Monday on the pretext of a job offer,” a police official said.
