Jaidev’s Geetgovind

The third edition of Ashtapadi - a festival of dance, will be conducted this weekend. The two-day-long fest promises to be an invigorating experience of Jaidev’s Geetagovind in classic, recent and new choreography. The first day will have performances by Sathyanarayana Raju (Bharatanatyam) and Madhavi Mudgal (Odissi) whereas the second day will see Srimayi (Kuchipudi) and Deepti Omcherri Bhalla (Mohiniyattam) giving their recitals. Venue: Kamani Auditorium, Mandi House, March 9 and 10. Time: 6:30 pm.

Kathakali recital

Classical dancers of International Centre for Kathakali will present a scene from Duryodhana Vadham in a traditional style. Kalamandalam Anil Kumar will act as Krishna, Kalabharathy Kalyanakrishnan as Draupadi, Thiruvattar Jagadeesan
will act as Duryodhana and Kalamandalam Amaljith is Arjuna. They will accompanied by Sadanam Radhakrishnan and Kottakkal Jayan on vocals.
