BBMP health inspector trapped

The Lokayukta police arrested a junior health inspector of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Wednesday.

The complainant C K Raghavendra’s friend had approached the accused Prem Kumar of the BBMP to obtain a general licence to open a warehouse at Yelahanka.

The official demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000 for issuing the licence. The first installment of Rs 6,000 was already paid but the official did not issue the licence.

The Lokayukta sleuths trapped the official while he was accepting the balance amount of Rs 6,000 at his office. He was later remanded in judicial custody.
