Former chief minister and JD (S) State president H D Kumaraswamy shows all the signs of being prepared for the upcoming Assembly polls in the State.
First, he set up a media centre in Sadashiv Nagar, and now has procured a hi-tech van specially designed for campaign tours.
A party worker said that the Toyota commuter van, contains a hydraulic lift through which a person can be elevated to the top of the vehicle to address the audience.
“Other interior modifications were done by a Bangalorean,” the source said.
Kumaraswamy is expected to perform a pooja for the vehicle at the Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple in Gavipuram on Sunday morning. The vehicle can be easily be taken on narrow roads to address a small assembly of people. Four speakers are attached to the vehicle.
Among the gadgets inside are a television, a cord-less phone, a refrigerator and a wash basin. The hydraulic lift attached with a cushion can also be used as a sitting space or dining table. There is a maharaja seat along with two separate seats for visitors. Including the driver, seven people can travel comfortably in the van.
