An addition to the show

The makers of Qubool Hai are all set to introduce a new character on the show, who will have quite an impact on Asad’s life — Tanveer, his childhood friend. This character will be essayed by a newcomer named Nisha Nagpal. Unlike the fiery Zoya, her character has a calm and dignified manner and is modest in terms of her dressing and opinions — which Asad finds appealing.

The equation between the two will take Zoya by surprise and lead to a dramatic love triangle. Nisha is excited about playing a part on the show and says, “I have been watching Qubool Hai and I absolutely love Karan Singh Grover. So, working with him is an exciting prospect. The show is one of the top shows of the industry currently and being a part of it — opposite Karan — is huge for me.”

Many girls auditioned for the role but ultimately, Nisha snagged the part. “I thank Zee TV and producer Gul Khan for selecting me among so many others who had auditioned for the role. Playing this character is going to be a huge challenge for me as it has many layers — something that I’m looking forward to,” she adds.

Because family comes first

A Family Thing’ stars Robert Duvall, James Earl Jones, Michael Beach, Irma P Hall and Grace Zabriskie. In this movie, Earl lives in Arkansas with his parents, his wife and kids.

His mother dies, leaving him a letter stating that Earl is not her natural son but was born to an Afro-American woman who had died during childbirth.

The letter also states that Earl has a half-brother, Ray, who lives in Chicago and she wants Earl to visit him. Earl goes to Chicago only to receive a cold welcome from Ray and his son Virgil. Watch the film to see whether Ray and his family accept Earl at all. It stars on MGM at 10.30 pm on March 12.

Zombies take centre stage

Shaun of the Dead’ is a humourous homage to zombie movies from director Edgar Wright — an outrageous romantic comedy with zombies. The one-of-a-kind movie offers viewers equal doses of horror, thrills and enough to tickle their funny bone.

‘Shaun of the Dead’ stars Simon Pegg, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Nick Frost, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton. Catch the flick on Star Movies at 2.25 pm on March 12.

Scapegoat for the crime

Shooter’ airs on Sony Pix at 9 pm on March 12. Bob Lee Swagger (played by Mark Wahlberg) is an ace shooter who is also a loner living in the Rockies — this is after he inadvertently causes the death of an innocent. He is assigned the task of helping Colonel Isaac Johnson (essayed by Danny Glover) find out the chances of the US president being assassinated in the next two weeks. Despite doing his best, Bob finds that a shot is fired at the president. Worse still, Bob Lee is the fall guy and is hunted by thousands. Can he prove his innocence? Catch the movie to find out.
