BU seminar on theatre

As part of World Theatre Day, the Department of Performing Arts on the Jnanabharathi campus of Bangalore University, has organised a seminar on ‘Staging / Playing Gender: History, Theatre and Performance.’

The two-day conference which aims to make gender an integral part of the theatre research area, will be held on March 27 and 28.

The department has also invited papers from practitioners and scholars on the same topic. The seminar will have talks on topics such as ‘Gender Impersonation and its Historical Trajectories,’ ‘Representation of Women in Theatre,’ ‘Woman and Performative Traditions,’ ‘Woman Performers’ and many more.
