‘Ayushmann is a gentleman’

Bollywood’s very own fashion diva, Sonam Kapoor, is a tough chick to impress — she’s known to have high standards and expects everyone to stick to them. But it seems that VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khuranna, who created a name for himself in the industry with a stellar performance in ‘Vicky Donor’, has managed to do just that.

Apparently, Ayushmann completely wowed Sonam with his demeanour and “natural” emoting skills in front of the camera. Sonam is currently shooting for a Yash Raj Films’ untitled project with Ayushmann in the capital. Directed by Nupur Asthana, this movie is touted to be a romantic comedy about two lovers who are courting during the time of recession.

“Ayushmann Khuranna is a thorough gentleman. He is such a natural actor, so well-behaved and respectful,” Sonam smiles about her co-star. “I love working with him. It has been the most wonderful experience working with a co-star,” adds the 27-year-old, who plays a lawyer in the movie.

Sonam has wrapped up shooting for Ranjhanaa — which also stars Southern actor Darshan — and is looking forward to the release of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, in which she will be seen opposite Farhan Akhtar, who plays ‘Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh, the legendary athlete in the flick.

Romance with a dose of music

Some might think that Deepak Tijori’s time in the industry is done, but the film-maker begs to differ. He is making a comeback in tinsel town by helming a new project, which is called ‘Rock’in Love’.

As the name suggests, this film is going to be a hard-core love story. In the past, Deepak has tried his hand at making thrillers — such as Fareb and Khamosh. He has worked with many talented artistes such as Shilpa and Shamita Shetty, Arjun
Rampal and Sunny Deol.

But now, he seems to have finally given up on his attempts at thrillers and this time, his new film is going to be a love story with a heavy dose of music. It is being produced by Ravinder Singh, whose last film was ‘I M 24’ — also co-produced by Vineet Sharma. Deepak wanted to find an actor who could also sing well for the film but surprisingly, there was no one in India who fitted the bill. So — like his mentor, Mahesh Bhatt — the film-maker sought talent in Pakistan.

He finally came across Adeel, a half-Canadian and half-Pakistani, who he felt fit the part.

Aaradhya gets a holiday home

There are children and then there are star children. And Aaradhya Bachchan — daughter of tinsel town superstars Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan — definitely falls in the latter category.

Rumour has it that the little tot has started her real-estate portfolio with a sky-high holiday home in Dubai, which her parents gifted to her.

The child, who is little over a year old, now owns a house that is estimated to cost around Rs 54 crore. Clearly, her doting parents want the best for their baby.

Actress Manisha Koirala, who is undergoing treatment in New York for ovarian cancer, will most probably return to India in July, says her manager.

“Manisha is recovering well. She is better now. Most probably, she will
return to India by July. Nothing is decided now but if things go well, then she might be back in India by July,” Subroto Ghosh, who is Manisha’s manager, says.

Known for her roles in ‘Bombay’ and Lajja, among others, Manisha, 42, was operated upon in December last year in a hospital in New York. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy sessions there.
