JOIN USGopal Shetty, the father of Hamsini, 4, who was crushed to death on Thursday, died at a City hospital on Friday.
The two-wheeler Shetty’s four-member was riding was hit by a bus against a compound wall at Mahalakshmipuram.
The doctors of the private hospital said that they were unable to revive Gopal Shetty, who was brought to the hospital in a critical condition. His wife Vanitha and another daughter Pavani, however, are said to be out of danger.
Police have apprehended the bus driver Sridhar, who had absconded after the incident. He has been booked under severals sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 337 (endangering life and physical safety), and Section 304 (causing death by negligence).
Sources in the police department said a preliminary inquiry had revealed that the paperwork and permit of the private tour operator were in order.
They have now sent the bus to the technical division to examine its physical condition and on-road feasibility. The police will also be questioning the bus owner, Umesh Gowda.
