'Nali Kali helps to learn in a fun-filled way'

DIET Principal Basave Gowda has said that trainings and workshops are essential for effective teaching. The Nali-Kali method of learning gives larger autonomy to the teacher and also helps in creating an ambience for the child to learn in a fun-filled way.

Speaking at a discussion on  ‘Nali Kali’ held at Chikmagalur on Saturday, he said that there is no need to have inferiority complex towards government schools. The government schools have been imparting quality education to all irrespective of caste and creed. The teachers should give priority for effective teaching by making use of available resources. The teachers should develop discipline and timeliness and should not use mobilephones during the school hours.

Coorinator Raje Gowda said that Nali Kali method of teaching is good and helpful. Out of 220 working days, only 10 days are restricted for training. Teachers should not neglect training. The lessons that they have learnt in training programmes should be carried on to the classrooms.

Taluk Primary School teachers association President B N Sundaresh said that Nali Kali system of education need to be restricted to second standard. Uniform education policy should be chalked out for the private and government schools. Resourcepersons Raveendra, Veeranna Gowda, Lilly Joseph, Susheela were present. Over 600 teachers from 300 schools had taken part in the programme.
