Assn to check people's problems

A new association to keep track of the problems and requirements of the residents of Milagres and Falnir wards, will be formed. The organisation named Milagres and Falnir Wards Residents Welfare Association will be inaugurated on March 17 at Milagres Silver Jubilee Hall.

Addressing media persons on Friday, Association President B Dharmana Naik said that the main objective of the Association is to identify the problems faced by people in two wards, find solutions and urge the authorities to fulfill their demands. Following a few meetings of the residents, it was unanimously decided to form an association which will work for the welfare of the people. A managing committee of 21 members has been formed to manage the affairs. The number of residents enrolled as members is 219 as on March 14. Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat will inaugurate the Association and MCC former commissioner J R Lobo will be the chief guest.

*The Karnataka Janapada Academy has selected Dr Abhaykumar, faculty, department of Kannada, Mangalore University as member of the academy. Muddenuru Ningappa from PG Centre of Karnatak University at Haveri, and Muthayya, lecturer, Kuvempu University, Shimoga are the others included as members, said a press release.
