The award conferred by Mandd Sobhann is given to deserving Konkani artist of Karnataka origin every year. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a citation, a trophy and public honour.
In the fifth year of its conception, the award will be presented by Superior of Carmelites, Bikarnakatta, Fr George Santhumayer, during the 95th Monthly theatre, at 6 pm on November 1 at Kalaangann. Sidhanath Buyao and his troupe from Goa will give a song-dance-jokes performance on the occasion.
The former recipients of this award are - Arun Raj Rodrigues (Theatre), Joel Pereira (Music), Harry D’souza (Brass Band) and Rev Dr Charles Vaz (Devotional Music), informed a press release.
