Report on BJP 'scams' to be tabled in U'khand House

One of the reports of the Bhati commission, which is probing a slew of alleged scams during the previous BJP government in Uttarakhand, will be tabled on the floor of the state Assembly on March 20.

The Bhati commission’s report on Uttarakhand Seeds and Tarai Development Corporation scam, which was submitted recently to chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, will be tabled on the floor of the House on March 20, state agriculture minister Harak Singh Rawat told reporters here.

An FIR will also be lodged against those indicted by the probe panel in its report, he said. “No one found guilty of looting hard-earned public money will be spared, whoever is responsible for the scam will be punished,” Rawat said.

The probe panel’s report is being tabled on the floor of the House at a time when main opposition BJP is demanding a CBI inquiry into alleged sale of industrial (SIDCUL) land to private builders and land mafias at throwaway prices.

The party has disrupted proceedings of the state Assembly on the issue for two consecutive days during its ongoing budget session and held demonstrations outside the House insisting on a CBI probe into the alleged SIDCUL land scam.

The commission headed by retired IAS officer K R Bhati was constituted on May 10 last year.
