Yeddyurappa ready to join Congress delegation to Delhi

Last Updated 23 October 2009, 16:17 IST

The CM’s move is seen as a way of hitting out at the Congress for having stayed away from the state delegation’s recent visit to New Delhi to meet the PM for the same purpose. The Congress had announced that it would sent its own delegation to meet the PM.

“As the chief minister of the state it is my responsibility to ensure the flood victims are rehabilitated. If the Congress leaders tell me the date of calling on the PM, I will join them along with a few of my cabinet colleagues. There should be no differences when it comes to protecting the interest of the state,” Yeddyurappa said.

Council nominations

The State Cabinet on Thursday authorised the Chief Minister to nominate to fill up the three vacancies which are going to arise in the Legislative Council in next January.
Minister V S Acharya, after the Cabinet meeting, told reporters that nominated members Dr Chandrashekar Kambar, Mallajamma and Prakash Rathod would complete their term on January 20.
