KSCA camps to kick off next month

Last Updated 21 March 2013, 17:17 IST

The Karnataka State Cricket Association will conduct their second annual six-week cricket camp ‘Royal Challengers-KSCA Academy’ at 41 centres across Karnataka from April 15 to May 23.

According to KSCA officials, the first edition of the camp -- held in 30 centres -- was a big success and this year’s camp is expected to raise the bar with the inclusion of the under-14 category.

In order to join the free camps, players will need to take part in open trials to be held in several venues. While trials to pick talented cricketers in most moffusil centres have concluded, trials to be held in five centres across Bangalore are still to get underway.

The under-14 trials will be held on March 29 (registrations open from March 23 to March 25), under-16 on April 15 (registrations open from April 6 to 10) and under-19 on April 16 (registrations open from April 6 to April 10) at the JP Nagar stadium, JSS grounds (Uttarahalli), Gnanajyoti grounds (HAL), Webbs grounds and the NRA Palace grounds.

“We have ensured that all the coaches are on the same page. Around 200 coaches will be employed during the camps and all of them will maintain the same teaching philosophy. It will not change from coach to coach which was a problem in the past,” said RC-KSCA chairman G R Viswanath.

Registration forms and further details are available at website www.ksca.co.in.
