Chinnara Angala scheme from April 15

As many as 11,995 out of school children (OOSC) will be undergoing a three months summer bridging course under the Chinnara Angala scheme between April 15 and July 14 this year.

Out of this figure, 6,486 children will be enrolled with residential facilities whereas 5,509 will enroll in the programme without it. The government has earmarked a monthly amount of Rs 5,000 for the former and Rs 1,500 for the latter.

The special training programme aims to bring to school all those children between ages of seven and 14 years who have dropped out of school at lower primary or upper primary level, as well as, those who have never gone to school. This preparatory course will then enable them to enrol in regular schools. 

The plan is to train each child in accordance with his individual capability and skills. As a result an individual education plan will prepared to train children.
