JOIN USAn astrologer has lodged a complaint with the police against Ramya Vasishta who has sought annulment of her marriage with her singer-husband Rajesh Krishnan.
Prahlad Shetty, a resident of Basaveshwara Nagar, told the police that Vasishta and her friend Usha barged into his house on Friday, abused him and his wife, locked them up in a room and took away some valuables.
He also alleged that Vasishta had threatened to file a rape case against him if he did not sign on a paper showing that he owed her Rs 10 lakh in debt.
Basaveshwara Nagar police have registered a case against Vasishta under Sections 161, 134, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Shetty told Deccan Herald that two years ago, before her marriage to Rajesh, Vasishta had approached him for advice on their horoscopes. He said he had advised her then to perform a ‘havan’ to overcome ‘glitches’ in their horoscopes.
The ‘havan’ was performed at a temple in Raichur, after which the two married at Kollur in 2011. Recently, Vasishta alleged that Krishnan was impotent and sought annulment of her marriage. Shetty said a frustrated Vasishta was now blaming him for her failed marriage.
“Her argument is that I did not tell her that Rajesh was impotent when I saw their horoscopes. She says I am responsible for her pitiable condition and is demanding Rs 10 lakh as compensation. It’s ridiculous,” he said. Krishnan is a two-time divorcee.
