Unable to bear headache, woman ends life

Three women were found dead at their houses in the City in three separate incidents, since Saturday night.

Pankajavalli, 51, allegedly set herself ablaze at her Doddategur house in the Electronic City police limits on Sunday.

Pankajavalli’s husband, Parameshwaran, a cook with the KSRP’s First Battalion claimed that Pankajavalli took her own life because she was no longer able to tolerate the severe headaches which she had been suffering for several months.

“Parameshwaran was away buying medicine, when the incident took place,” police said. Several neighbours had gathered in front of the house when he returned from the store. Pankajavalli was rushed to Victoria Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival, police added.

The couple have four children: two boys and two girls — all of whom are married. The couple were staying alone for the last few years, added police. There was no suicide note.

Found dead

In another incident at the Madanayakanahalli police limits in Bangalore Rural district, a homemaker was found dead at her house on Sunday.

Rupa, 22, a resident of Harokyathanahalli had married Prasanna over two years ago and the couple had a half-year-old baby. Both hailed from Madanayakanahalli and Prasanna was employed at a construction firm, sources said.

Madanayakanahalli police said family members have not yet registered a complaint over the matter.

Murder suspected

Upset over a family dispute, a woman allegedly committed suicide at Dandiganahalli on Saturday night.

A resident of Dandiganahalli, Renuka 22, had married Raghuram two years ago and had a child.

Renuka’s father, Lakshminarayanappa, however, rubbished claims that his daughter had committed suicide. In his complaint filed at the Vijayanagara police station, he said that Renuka was killed by her in-laws over dowry.

An autopsy was conducted on the body at Devanahalli government hospital, before it was handed over to the family.
