CM, Reddy brothers tiff continues

Last Updated 23 October 2009, 19:01 IST

In Thursday Cabinet meeting, they expressed their resentment over the proposed toll truck. On Friday, they reportedly told the CM that they are not happy with the appointment of an MP to monitor the implementation of flood relief work.

It is said that the brothers are also sour over the abrupt transfer of IAS officer N V Prasad as DC of Gadag, for which Health Minister B Sreeramulu is the in-charge minister. They want to the CM to reinstate the officer, who is now CEO of Dharwad ZP.
Sources said that Revenue Minister Karunakar Reddy and Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy met the CM at the latter’s official residence in the morning. The ministers expressed their ire over appointment Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrashekar as coordinator of the Aasare Programme – the government’s fund raising programme for permanent rehabilitation of flood affected.

Karunakara Reddy is said to have told the CM that he was not consulted before appointing the MP  as coordinator. The rehabilitation works come under the jurisdiction of the Revenue department.

The CM’s explanations  failed to convince the brothers. The Revenue minister,  said that he do not like anybody interrupting in his his work. Another meeting between the Reddy brothers and the CM was later held at Yeddyurappa’s chamber in Vidhana Soudha.
