Elephant dies due to infection

A female elephant which was found dead on Thursday on the  periphery of Palibetta Mavakallu reserve forest near Gonikoppa  was buried on Friday.

The elephant, around 10 years old, was lifted by a crane.

Hunasoor wildlife division veterinary doctor Umashankar conducted the postmortem.
It is suspected that the elephant had developed intestinal infection.
