2 held for stabbing near Surathkal

The arrested are Sandeep (25) of Guddekopla and Deepak (22) of Chitrapura. They have been produced before the court. The arrested had allegedly stabbed one Ismail, a fish vendor on October 21.

Missing

Two persons have gone missing from Mangalore South police station limits since October 23. Two separate cases have been filed in this regard.

One Dhanaraj (21), a resident of Bhadravathi in Shimoga district, and another Madhava (35) from Bareppady in Puttur taluk had been admitted to the District Government Wenlock Hospital due to illness.

Both left the hospital on October 23 and did not return. Separate missing cases have been filed with the Mangalore South police station.

70 taken ill

More than 70 students fell sick after consuming food from a hotel in Kundapur. According to reports, Mother Teresa English Medium School in Shankaranarayana had made arrangement with a hotel to supply food for those who don’t get tiffin. Hence, those who had consumed food from the hotel, started complaining of stomach ache, vomiting and giddiness.

Taluk Health Officer Dr Ram Rao said “it was clear indication of food poisoning. Majority of the students have gone back home. However, seven to nine students are getting treatment in the hospital. They are out of danger. School has been directed to declare holiday on Saturday.
