The City police have cracked the recent murder case of a youth at Kadugondanahalli by arresting four men on the City outskirts.

The gang had attacked two brothers Mohammed Ameen and Mohammed Yasin near Govindapura Cross, KG Halli, on March 19 morning.

While their target was Ameen, who escaped unhurt, his younger brother Yasin who tried to reason with the assailants, was hacked to death. Before the police could turn up at the spot, the gang struck again in the neighbouring Devarjeevanahalli and assaulted Irfan Khan alias Boondi Irfan, seriously injuring him.

East Division police had formed three special teams to crack the case. Ameen and Irfan Khan had identified their attackers as Toufeeq and his associates.

The police have arrested Toufeeq Pasha alias Touseef, 24, of Govindapura, and Hassan alias Hussein, 25, Saleem Ahmed alias Saleem, 22, Bakash alias Allah Bakash, 23, all residents of DJ Halli, from Tavarekere on the outskirts recently. They also recovered some lethal weapons used in the attack.

Tiff with other gang

Police sources said Toufeeq and his men had intended to attack only Irfan Khan. But the notorious rowdy had a tiff with another gang close to Toufeeq. Toufeeq and his three associates were on their way to DJ Halli to attack Irfan Khan.

However, when the gang encountered Ameen — also a goon from Govindapura with whom Toufeeq had an enmity — and his younger brother, the two had a tiff while Toufeeq was having tea at a roadside stall.

In the spur of moment, they attacked Ameen who escaped unhurt. Then they hacked Yasin who tried reasoning with them. The gang fled the scene and went to DJ Halli as planned and attacked Irfan Khan.
