Lashing out at the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday challenged the party to prove any allegation levelled against him.

Speaking at the launch of Congress Sandesh Yatra at the party office, Gehlot said the allegations were also levelled against him 32 years ago when he was an MP but they turned out to be baseless.

Same charges 32 yrs ago

“Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are levelling allegations that I have a flat in Mumbai, a five-star hotel in son’s name but such allegations had also been levelled 32 years ago when
I was elected as MP. I challenge that they cannot prove such baseless allegation,” Gehlot said.

Congress government at Rajasthan took many pro-people decisions in all sectors which delivered encouraging results, he said.

“The government’s financial management is robust and we presented surplus budget. Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia appreciated the state budget,” he said.

‘Looters taking out yatra’

Referring to BJP state chief Vasundhara’s Yatra, which is scheduled next week, Gehlot said “BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari has rightly said that few looters are taking out yatra and will loot all the mineral resources of state.”

“They (BJP) have already minted in the name of 90-B (land conversion) when they were in power and now they are after mineral resources,” he added.
He said the state’s future is bright only because of an abundance of natural resources.
