Triple murder: Police teams intensify search

Friends, relatives and acquaintances of the deceased questioned

The police have constituted several teams for the investigation. Commissioner of police, additional commissioner (law and order), joint-commissioner, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and inspectors are working from different angles. “So far there is little progress. We are not in a position to disclose anything. All higher officials are investigating,” said Joint Commissioner (Crime) Alok Kumar.

Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said that the police were confident of nabbing the accused soon. Sources said that some vital clues indicate the hand of persons known to the family. Only one box of valuables was missing, indicating that the accused may done so to mislead the investigating teams.

The police have questioned friends, relatives and acquaintances of Rahul Das and Pushpalatha. They have also collected telephone and mobile call details of the deceased.
A woman had reportedly attended the call when Rahul’s father called up from Assam. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the woman.

The post mortem of the three bodies was conducted at the Ambedkar Medical College and the bodies were handed over to the relatives. Rahul Das, an interior designer from West Bengal, his wife Pushpalatha and their daughter Agneesha were murdered at their residence. The decomposed bodies were found in a bathtub and a bucket on Friday morning.
