Pro-children BBMP manifesto sought

The members of the NGO working for eradication of child labour will visit the party offices on October 29 to submit the list of demands. A joint committee has also been set up to monitor the allocation, distribution and utilisation of the grants provided by the State government towards health, education, labour, BBMP and other departments.

"We insist that every party leader and candidate, who will be addressing voters in public meetings, bring up child rights issues and make specific promises to the children of their constituencies, while referring to the party manifestos," said Nagasimha Rao, the convener of the NGO. He added that 20 lakh of the City's population is less than 18 years of age.
