All human beings are consciously or unconsciously involved in the search for lasting and enduring happiness. Happiness is peace of mind. According to Sadguru Sri Sharavana Baba, the reason we visit temples precisely to obtain such peace of mind.

"However, we must generate this peace of mind within us. The mind which realises itself has a Mahatma within it. We must realise that Mahatma is within us. When we start worshipping the Mahatma within us we will prosper.

When a child is born and is brought up in a good manner by showering lot of love and affection on him, he will do good things not only to his family and society, but to the whole world. We should lead a blessed life. That blessing will help us to grow and to have a peaceful and simple life for a sustained period."

"Life is a bondage from which liberation is attained through death. One should the self within. Only when we respect and worship others, will they respect and worship us. It is not material gains that is critical but blessings because it is the latter that help us."

"We should understand the origin of temples. Before worshipping the idols in the temple, we should worship those who constructed that temple and the sculptor who designed the idol. God's presence can be experienced in the temple. God is also present in those people who made the temple.

Sages have taught us to revere people who are to be revered and to revere them at such places where they are to be revered. We should realise the grace within us. We should realise that God is present even in a piece of stone. The sculptor who made the idol from such a stone has God within him. To be precise God is everywhere."

"The Vedas teach us to respect our forefathers. Do not entertain grudges towards others. Grudge creates agitation which will result in not only our own destruction but ultimately the destruction of society." "Live in this world through righteous action, practicing unconditional love and mindful cooperation.

This is the best and perhaps the easiest way to attain God." "Finally, there are three things that are of utmost importance. These include (a) seeing only good things through our eyes, (b) hearing only good things through our ears and (c) speaking only good things with our tongue. Such spiritual practice helps us develop ‘iccha shakti’ or the power of will or desire, jnana shakti or the power of speech and wisdom and kriya shakti or the power of action.

We celebrate festivals to realise the importance of leading a meaningful life. A blessed life is a result of the combination of prayer and action."
