Upset over her three-month old boy being diagnosed with brain tumour and given bleak chances of survival, a young woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of a hospital here today.
23-year-old Sumithra of neighbouring Dharmapuri district and her husband came to the private hospital here after doctors in their native told them that the baby had a tumour in brain and required surgery, hospital sources said.
When doctors at the hospital said they could not give any assurance about the survival of the child after the surgery, the woman was deeply upset and ended her life, they said.
