Former Miss India Neha Dhupia, who flashed a million dollar smile while sashaying down the ramp on Sunday at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) for designer Kavita Bhartia, wonders why models don’t flash a smile during catwalk. “I have always wondered why models always walk the ramp with a straight face. Why don't they ever smile? Even during my modelling days, I used to wonder about it,” Neha said after the show.

“But then I guess, if beautiful models start smiling, they will completely take the show away from the designer’s clothes,” she added.

Dressed in a black ruffled dress teamed up with a bust jacket-like top with metallic gold embellishments on it, Neha delivered a perfect catwalk sans any extra drama on the stage. “I was very impressed with Kavita’s collection and I was eyeing this gold jacket when I came in. I didn’t know it was for me. I was really glad that she had planned that I will wear it,” said Neha.

The actress, who is awaiting the release of her film De Dana Dan, was not even a wee bit nervous before walking the ramp. “I was excited,” she said.

Ace designer Ritu Beri’s neat, flattering collection on display at WIFW stole the limelight from Bollywood actor Abhay Deol. Dressed in a pair of jeans, crisp shirt paired with a black waistcoat and black hat, Abhay looked his handsome best. Female fans were completely floored when he smiled, flaunting his dimples. But Beri’s well-cut designs, full of youthful charm, teamed up with oversized hats, rose above Abhay’s star power.

When asked Beri why she brought Abhay as a showstopper, she said: “He wasn’t my showstopper. He walked because he is a good friend. But there really is no one like Abhay –– he is so cool, so himself, just so unaffected by anything around him, totally relaxed and adventurous.”
