Short course on film making

Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) has announced a short course ‘Media and the city’ on film making. The course will be held at the IIHS City Campus, Bangalore.

The course aims to sensitise and train learners in understanding, capturing, and presenting the multiple aspects of a city in a digital video format. Course sessions will help the participants understand the different perceptions of the city with respect to its political, cultural, economic, and social realms.

The course is a mix of theory and practice that includes hands-on technical skill training on making short films in an urban setting from start to finish. The course will focus on some key concepts like how has the “city” been represented in cinema, technical details about the camera, shooting a film, editing, digitizing the footage and script writing.
