Plea to ply buses on Raja Seat road

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Town Municipality Member T M Ayyappa said, “we welcome the authorities’ decision of concreting the road. However, we oppose the unscientific manner of work.” Students and villagers will find it very difficult to travel to their destinations as the bus stand has been shifted. Hence, the district administration should review the earlier decision and allow buses to ply on Raja Seat road, he added.

Members including Abdul Razak and Muneer Ahmed allege that the Town Municipality administration has ignored the suggestions of members and traders while taking decisions with regard to the road concrete works. Opposition members were not invited for the inaugural of road concrete works. Development works are being taken up in an unscientific way, they said.

Further, they alleged that land belong to Town Municipality have been encroached. As the ‘plastic-free town’ mission remains in paper, roads are being filled with plastic waste, members charged.
