Poll awareness balloon bursts!

Last Updated 18 April 2013, 18:16 IST

The election awareness campaign has suffered a setback even before the start of the actual elections. A huge balloon which was set afloat to create awareness among voters has lost its significance and has hit a roadblock.

The balloon which bore the message ‘Your vote, your right’ has lost its essence by falling atop the building of Department of Public Instruction. With twenty days to go for the elections, the balloon with the valuable message has fallen silent.

Reminder

The district authorities had decided to release the balloon to increase the voter turnout at the polls. Former Deputy Commissioner Dr N Manjula had released the balloon in the premises of the Department of Public Instruction.

‘The makers of the balloon were brought in from Bangalore to Chikkaballapur and the task was completed in a very short period of time. This feat was praised by Dr N Manjula.
But the balloon now looks like it is going to disappear’, said Srinivasappa, a local resident.
