Where authenticity counts

Catch ‘Nigellisima’ on April 23 on TLC at 10 pm. The essence of Italian food, like Nigella’s style of cooking, is simplicity and informality.

In the show, Nigella reveals how easy it is to bring the spirit of Italy into the kitchen and onto the plate using basic ingredients available in any supermarket.

Her mouth-watering dishes have their roots in tradition but take the viewer into fresh territory.

Her recipes are always quick and easy, designed to elevate everyday eating into no-fuss feasts for those days when supper needs to be on the table pronto!

An uncomplicated relationship

Fifteen years after meeting at a summer camp, Adam and Emma cross paths.
When he discovers that an ex-girlfriend is living with his dad, he gets drunk and calls every woman in his cell phone contact list.

The next morning, he wakes up realizing that he had passed out naked in her living room.

Emma is a medical resident in Los Angeles while he is a gopher on a television show, hoping to be a writer someday.  She wants to guard her emotions and asks him if he wants a no-strings-attached relationship, without romance or complications. Is that the prescription for fun or disaster? Tune in to ‘No Strings Attached’ on HBO on April 23 at 4.50 pm to discover the answer.

The movie stars Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, Cary Elwes, Kevin Kline and Greta Gerwig.

New girl on the block

A 150-member unit of artistes and technicians of Subhash Ghai’s upcoming project, Kaanchi is presently based in the valleys of flowers in Uttaranchal. The director’s latest discovery, Mishti, plays the lead role in the film and was selected out of more than 530 girls who were personally interviewed by him.

“Mishti is one of the most talented new heroines I have ever found. She is just fantastic. You have to see her performance in Kaanchi to believe me. She is another superstar in the wing this year,” says Subhash.

The film showcases a dramatic journey of an 18-year-old girl from the mountains to a metropolitan city. The film, which includes stars like Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty, is a take on power, money and politics in the country. It is slated to release around August.

‘I am a Madhuri Dixit fan’

Naseeruddin Shah, who was last seen in ‘Sona Spa’, is currently having a ball in Lucknow shooting for Abhishek Chaubey’s Dedh Ishqiya, the sequel to the well-received Ishqiya. Having Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi and Arshad Warsi as his co-stars only adds to the actor’s sense of enjoyment.

Madhuri, in particular, seems to have made quite an impression on him. “She’s quite wonderful. I have to confess I am a Madhuri Dixit fan. I am not embarrassed to say this. I rate her at par with Waheeda Rehman and Madhubala,” admits the actor.
