Walking in each other’s shoes

Catch ‘The Change-Up’ on HBO at 4.20 pm on May 7. Growing up together, Mitch and Dave were inseparable best friends, but as the years have passed they slowly drifted apart.

While Dave is an overworked lawyer, husband and father of three, Mitch has remained a single, quasi-employed man-child who has never met a responsibility he liked. To Mitch, Dave has it all — a beautiful wife Jamie, kids who adore him and a high-paying job at a prestigious law firm. To Dave, living Mitch’s stress-free life without obligation or consequence would be a dream come true. Following a drunken night out together, Mitch and Dave’s worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other’s bodies and proceed to freak out. Despite the freedom from their normal routines and habits, the guys soon discover that each other’s lives are nowhere near as rosy as they once seemed. The movie stars Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds, Olivia Wilde, Leslie Mann and Alan Arkin.

Beyond the fame and fortune

In ‘The Game Plan’, rugged superstar quarterback Joe Kingman is a confirmed bachelor living a dream life: he’s rich, famous and the life of the party. But this football hero is about to tackle his biggest challenge yet when the eight-year-old daughter he never knew he had arrives on his doorstep. Now, he finds himself torn between answering the demands of his teammates and the requests of his daughter. He’s also not finding any support from his hard-edged agent, Stella, who also lacks any parental instincts. Over time, Joe discovers that there’s more to life than money, endorsements, and thousands of adoring fans: the love and care of one very special girl. Tune in to the film on Star Movies at 9 pm on May 7. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Madison Pettis, Kyra Sedgwick, Roselyn Sanchez and Morris Chestnut.

The powers of invisibility

'The Shadow’ is based on a comic strip of the 1930s. It is about a hero and his rival, Shiwan Khan, who is planning to destroy the world by threatening to use the atom bomb.

The Shadow uses his ability to be invisible and to confuse minds to come to the city’s rescue.

The film, which is directed by Russell Mulcahy, stars Alec Baldwin, John Lone, Penelope Ann Miller, Peter Boyle, Ian McKellen, Tim Curry and Jonathan Winters. Watch ‘The Shadow’ on Zee Studio at 10.30 pm on May 7.


An affair to remember

'Dreamchild’ is set in 1932 when Alice Liddell Hargreaves (played by Coral Browne), who is all of eighty, goes to New York to take part in the centenary celebrations of Lewis Carroll who had authored the ‘Alice’ books. She recalls details of the childhood events that had led to the stories being written. That brings about the question: had the shy Lewis been in love with her? Watch the movie on MGM at 5 pm on May 7 to find out. It also stars Ian Holm, Peter Gallagher and Jane Asher.

Family comes first

Different from the rest


Happy Feet’ is directed by George Miller. In this animated movie, Mumble is an Emperor penguin who has a big problem — he does not possess the ability to sing like other penguins.

Instead, he can tap dance. Blamed for the poor fishing season and outcast by his community, Mumble meets new friends who accept him with open arms.

With his newfound pals, Mumble goes in search of the true cause of the famine. Watch ‘Happy Feet’ on WB at 2.13 pm on May 7.
