Bids invited for Metro line electrification

 The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has invited tenders for 750V cables for Reach 3 and 3-A (Swastik to Peenya) to begin electrification of lines on the 9.9-km stretch on Wednesday, which is likely to be commissioned by the year-end.

About 78 per cent of work is completed in Yeshwantpur, Soap factory and Mahalakshmi stations, while 74 per cent of work is complete in Rajajinagar, Kuvempu Road and Srirampuram stations of Reach 3 (Swastik to Yeshwantpur).

On Reach 3-A (Yeshwantpur to Peenya), all piers up to platform level have been completed in Peenya industrial area, while 15 per cent of the same is complete in Peenya village.

While Reach 3 and 3-A are next in line for commissioning, work on other reaches of Phase-1 is also progressing.  On Reach 2 (Magadi Road to Mysore Road), 243 out of 245 piers for the viaduct are complete and all segments are casted with 98 per cent of overall viaduct work completed.

About 75 per cent of works on Tollgate, Hosahalli and Vijayanagar stations have been completed while work on Mysore Road, Magadi Road and Deepanjali Road stations are complete. On Reach 4 (K R Market - RV Road), 70 per cent of track work and 80 per cent of Y-Junction reinforcement work are completed on the viaduct,  while 96 per cent, 93 per cent 75 per cent, and 84 per cent each of K R Road, Lalbagh, South End Circle, Jayanagar and R V Road stations are complete, respectively.

On Reach 4-A (RV Road to Puttenahalli Cross), 53 per cent of work is complete on all stations, with 45 per cent of work completed at Banashankari station and 54 per cent and 59 per cent of work completed at J P Nagar and Puttenahalli Cross stations, respectively.
