‘I seek approval from my man’

Kareena Kapoor, who tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan last year, has slipped into the role of a begum fairly easily. But despite the glitz and glamour associated with their relationship, she insists that Saif and she are like any other couple — they try to enjoy the small pleasures of life by doing things together.

“Saif and I are just a regular couple and it’s nice to be able to enjoy dinner at our favourite restaurant without light bulbs flashing in our faces constantly,” Kareena confesses, adding that she appreciates the media for allowing the newlyweds their privacy. “As a celebrity, being under the constant media glare is a job hazard. But I truly appreciate the privacy the media has given me when it comes to my personal life,” she says. Kareena is known for her flamboyant sense of style but admits that all the credit can’t go to her — she often asks for Saif’s approval before deciding what to throw on.

“I seek approval from my man on how I look and what I should wear. Saif, with his great taste, gives some fabulous inputs,” she explains.

Her career seems to be peaking right now with endorsements, films and other events. But Kareena makes sure to take out time for Saif, with whom she featured in big-screen ventures like Tashan and Kurbaan.

“Being from the same industry, Saif completely understands the pressure that comes with being an actor. While we never sideline our work, we ensure that we sneak in some ‘us time’ in the midst of our hectic schedules — be it catching a movie together, a quiet dinner or an impromptu vacation,” she reveals.

The actress further adds, “Saif has always been extremely supportive and encouraging and I’m really grateful to him for the same.”

From doing typical potboilers like Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham to off-beat films like Chameli and Omkara, Kareena has proved her mettle in the last 13 years.

After a long journey in showbiz, the actress — who will turn 33 in September this year — feels that success is not far behind if you are committed to your job. “When you enjoy what you do and when you give it all you’ve got, success will never be far behind. Always trust your instincts and have faith in your capabilities!” she states.

‘Sidharth loves his space’

Sidharth Malhotra, of ‘Student of the Year’ fame, is settling down quite comfortably in Mumbai.

The actor, who is from New Delhi, has recently shifted to a rented sea-facing flat in

A source close to actor says that the house has bay windows and a lot of space.

“He was keen on having space with perfect ventilation as well. He didn’t like to mess up the look of the house with  a lot of furniture. The house has a sea facing view, and he likes to sit near the window gazing at the beautiful view,” the source adds. However, the star still has  to get used to the city’s traffic. “Sidharth is still getting used to the traffic and honking, which never stops. Even though he loves being in Mumbai, he misses Delhi,” admits the source.

“He loves his space, but even then Sidharth can’t find the open space in Mumbai like Delhi. He thinks that Mumbai is confined. According to him, the building and spaces are stuffy,” adds the source.

Spreading the word about fitness

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan says that he will soon start shooting for ‘Bang Bang’,
in which he is paired with Katrina Kaif.

“After ‘Krrish 3’, I have ‘Bang Bang’, which is starting in a few days. I am really looking forward to that,” he confesses.

The actor, who recently launched a fitness book, adds, “I think six-packs have become common.

Everyone has it. They all look good. It is nice to spread the word of health and fitness in a prominent way.”

Trying to avoid confusion

Director Manish Tiwary has changed the name of the lead actress in his movie Isaaq — starring Prateik  — from Amy to Amyra Dastur in order to avoid any confusion with the actor’s ex-girlfriend.

Amyra, 16, will be romancing Prateik, 26, in the movie adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo And Juliet’.

Prateik was dating British actress Amy Jackson and Tiwary did not want people to create false rumours about the lead pair of his movie.

“It was a decision that everybody took together to make sure there is no confusion between the two girls and to avoid any link-up stories since Prateik and Amy’s relationship has been spoken about so much,” Tiwary says in a statement.

Prateik and Amy started dating each other after working together in Ekk Deewana Tha, but later called it quits.

A fresh pair on silver screen

Producer Bhushan Kumar has roped in Ranbir Kapoor and Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez as a fresh on-screen pair for his next venture, which will have both elements of romance as well as those of a thriller.

“I have roped in the fresh pair of Ranbir and Jacqueline for my next film. It’s a two-hero film. We are yet to finalise the other actor,” says Bhushan.

“For the first time, Jacqueline will be seen playing a double-role. It’s a very interesting concept — a love story with a thriller element,” he adds.

Jacqueline was seen in ‘Race’ and ‘Murder 2’. The film, touted to be a high-budget one, will go on the floors in December.

Bhushan adds, “It will be shot abroad. It’s a fresh product and Jacqueline will be seen in two different avatars in the film.”

The film will be directed by a newcomer in the industry Vikram Singh.
