Policemen rewarded

Triple murder case still shrouded in mystery

Briefing reporters here, on Thursday, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said
involvement of two more persons is suspected in the brutal killing.

Though, the police said that it was a murder for gain, there are some speculations about it being  revenge killing.

The arrested are Lokesh alias Loki (24) from Horamavu, Murali alias Laxman (20) of Bidarahalli near Hoskote and Raju alias Bhaskar (25) from Ramamurthy Nagar.
Lokesh was earlier working with Rahul and is now a driver. While Raju is a mechanic and Murali makes a living selling some fried food stuffs in the area. All the accused persons are first time offenders.

The assailant had allegedly murdered the family of interior designer Rahul Das, his 39-year-old wife Pushpalatha and daughter Agnesha (10) at their residence in Jayantinagar Layout, near Horamavu in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits.  

The wife and daughter, were done to death by the accused when the two returned home to find the trio ransacking the house, Bidari said.

The culprits got away with two bottles of local whisky, Rs 11,000 cash and around Rs 2.5 lakh worth jewellry after their gruesome deed.

The cops, who have seized the valuables, are now searching for the house key which, the culprits claimed they had thrown into the nearby lake.

Meanwhile, the Nandini Layout Head Constable Somashekar was awarded Rs 10,000 for cracking the case. Likewise, Police Inspector Chandru too was rewarded.

House torched

As the news of Raju alias Bhaskar’s alleged involvement in the triple murder case broke out, irate residents of Kalkere where the accused lives, torched his house on Thursday morning.

Police Inspector Krishnamurthy said the residents were angry over Bhaskar’s reported association with the ghastly act. However, there was not much damage. The fire was soon put out by the fire tender.
