Unravel the world

For those who are passionate about photography should go and visit an exhibition titled Artfoto ‘Carpe Diem’ by Ishaan Suri at A 10/6, Vasant Vihar, which will be on till May 31. The exhibit includes 45 new works from his collection of travel and experiences from all across the world.

Pursuing his passion for photography, Ishaan Suri, who is otherwise a businessman has gradually evolved as an artist. He is a trained photographer and has been photographing his travels for over 15 years and creating art for his personal collection.

Providing an insight into his work, he remarks, “Artfoto is a world where the paintbrush is a camera and the photo is created into something as magical as a painting could be.
There are no themes or concepts, nor are there explanations of why I capture what I have. It is for those who dream to see beyond the contemporary form of photography.”

Quoting David Alan Harvey, Ishaan says, “Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.” In a similar manner, Ishaan with his talent strives to dissolves boundaries in artistic disciplines, “I never shoot with a future goal or final concept in mind. When I walk down the streets or am on a holiday or even with friends, I shoot what I see in my head as how I would like to remember the sight in front of me. When I shoot for travel, I take pictures of those moments that have waved back to me. It is not possible to photograph something that doesn’t talk back to you, person or place.”

Available in various sizes and prices ranging from 6500 to Rs 40,000, this exhibition brings some of the most affordable modern digital photo art catered to an age group of 25-45 year olds.
