Inspired by an old title

Many Kannada movies are coming up with titles of old movies. The latest to join the bandwagon is Yuva Samrat, which is inspired by the 1994 Vishnuvardhan-starrer Samrat. Launched recently, the movie has newbie Kiran Kumar playing the lead along with Ukranian lass Snizhana. 

Varalakshmi Nandakumar is the film’s producer. 

Yashwanth Kumar has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues, and will also direct the film. Yashwanth has also composed music for the film while Suresh is the cameraman. 

The supporting cast includes Srinivasamurthy, M S Umesh, Bharathi Sharma and Renu. The film was launched recently and was held at Sri Sankashtahara Ganapathi Temple in Vijayanagar. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan sounded the clapboard while producer Soundarya Jagadish switched on the camera. Vishnuvardhan’s son-in-law Anirudh, producer B K Srinivas and director 

Naganna were also present at the launch.

Another remake soon

Actor Komal is all set to star in the remake of a Marathi movie ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’. Called Pyarge Agbuttaite, the movie was launched recently and will see Prarthana as the heroine. The original film is a love story and has Swapnil Joshi and Muktha Bharve in lead roles. The film revolves around just two characters and is directed by Kevin Bala. 

He says that he has made a lot of changes in the script and has included many more characters to give it a Kannada flavour. 
The film is being produced by Shobha Prakash.
