According to a press release, funds collected can be utilised for construction of roads and bridges, minor irrigation structures, PU and first grade colleges, ITI Buildings, rural godown and giving a boost to sericulture in various districts of the State. These projects have been sanctioned under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) - XV. The 67 rural roads and bridge projects of 858.31 km length will benefit 671 villages in 25 districts.
Further, 337 minor irrigation projects spread over the State including distress and flood-affected districts will provide irrigation to 15,202 hectares. Assistance for infrastructure development in 27 first grade colleges, two ITI buildings and construction of 584 new classrooms in 272 Government PU colleges will result in additional intake of about 15,300 students, the release stated.
