After returning from Kukke Subrahmanya temple this afternoon, the Chief Minister tried to put up a brave front claiming that he enjoyed the complete support of the high command to his leadership.

His rival group headed by the Reddy sibilings further grew in strength with about 61 MLAs including Minister Narendra Swamy joining their camp. While some are in Hyderabad, some have moved to Goa.
Apparently to show the strength and counter the Reddys’ claims, a list of 85 names of the Party MLAs, who are supposed to be the supporters of Yeddyurappa, was released. The list, released at the CM’s residence, does not bear any signature or seal to endorse it. The names of 21 ministers of the total 32 figure in the list.

The total strength of the Assembly is 225, including one nominated MLA. The minimum seats a ruling party should have is 113. The BJP under the leadership of Yeddyurappa at present has the strength of 114 besides the support of five Independents.
The CM, after the Tulabhara service at Kukke temple returned to Bangalore to hold meetings with his ministerial colleagues. On Thursday he had said that he had been asked by Arun Jaitley to maintain silence on political developments.

According to Yeddyurappa, the only problem now is Jagadish Shettar, and there are no differences between him and the Bellary trio. “He (Shettar) wants to be a minister. For this reason, some of his supporters are building pressure,” he stated adding that the national leaders have, therefore, summoned him (Shettar) to Delhi and asked him (CM) to maintain silence until the issue is resolved. There were speculations that even the CM camp is trying to pack off its MLAs to a resort in Hesarghatta.
Asked about Sriramulu’s claim that his camp has nearly 70 MLAs support, Yeddyurappa rubbished it saying he has not heard anything of that sort and claimed that all the party MLAs are working as a team. However, he warned his detractors saying that he is also aware of Chanakya tantra. He also held meeting with his supporters, including 13 ministers and some MLAs.

As the high command has complete confidence in him, he further explained, it has not summoned him to Delhi for talks.
