The State government is seriously contemplating on setting up a Lake Development Authority to rejuvenate lakes, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Lakes are the lifeline of groundwater,e but poor management and encroachment have killed the water sources. Having a Lake Development Authority could help evolve a  solution to conserve the water bodies, he said.  He warned the officers against creating artificial scarcity of sowing seeds, for there is enough stock. The State is already receiving pre-monsoon showers and the officers must respond to the farmers’ demand.
