The spate of suicides over poor high school examination result continues in the city, with a 15-year-old girl jumping to death from a building over bad results in her class 10 board exam in Dwarka on Sunday morning.

Jyoti, who lived with her family in Dwarka Sector 1, was a student of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School at Palam village. She jumped of the seventh floor of an under-construction building.

She was found in a pool of blood by a labourer at 11 am in Maharaja Agraseen Hospital building in Dwarka. Within a few minutes, a police team reached the spot.

“She died on the spot,” said a police officer, adding there was no witnesses.

She was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

“She committed suicide by jumping off the seventh floor. We spoke to her mother, who said her daughter had cleared her class 10 exam. But she did not find her results favourable,” said a senior police officer.

The body was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Hari Nagar for post-mortem, which will be conducted on Monday to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Police said they have not found any suicide note from the spot, but prima facie it seems she committed suicide.
