JOIN USA pillion rider was killed on the spot while her husband suffered injuries after a truck struct their two-wheeler under K R Puram traffic police limits on Sunday night.
The victim has been identified as Jyothi, 30, a resident of Vidyaranyapura. The victim’s husband is recovering at a private hospital, said the police.
According to the police, the couple had gone to a friend’s house at Marathalli and were heading back home when the incident occurred.
Jyothi was tossed up in the air before she fell down and suffered major injuries as a truck from behind rammed their two-wheeler.
Jyothi’s husband, the rider, was thrown to the other end of the road, the police said. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared Jyothi dead on arrival, the police added.
The truck driver is said to have abandoned the vehicle on the spot and fled. The police are searching for him, said the police.
