Man hacked to death

Gangaraj, 32, resident of Coconut Gardens, was hacked to death at Kalahasti Nagar on Wednesday night. Gangaraj, a real estate agent, had gone out to meet someone, his wife Sudha told the police.

Police said that when Gangaraju was walking near Old Dharmasthala Hotel, a local landmark, a gang of four men who came in an autorickshaw attacked him and hit him on the head with an iron rod. The gang of assailants fled the scene as Gangaraju collapsed in a pool of blood. Though he was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital, he was declared brought dead.

Last year, Gangaraju’s sister had eloped with Balu who was involved in many petty crimes. The couple had returned recently. Balu had a bitter tiff with Gangaraju on Tuesday evening over a family dispute.

Police suspect that it was Balu and his associates who attacked Gangaraju on Wednesday evening. Police sources say that one of the eyewitnesses has said he saw Balu on the spot. Peenya police have registered a case and are  investigating.
