Melodious narrative

‘Texts and Textures: Navarasas in Mahabharata’ is an engaging and innovative performance that will freely mingle songs and stories.

It is the re-telling of stories, episodes, moments and anecdotes from the epic along with rendering of classical music that captures the emotions of the Navarasas. Presented by V R Devika, renowned Chennai-based storyteller and Sushma Somasekharan, carnatic vocalists, accompanied by Akshay Ananthapadmanaban on mridangam and kanjira, the musical evening organised in collaboration with Aalaap, will be one of its kind.

Bollywood tunes

Eminent artists from Delhi and Mumbai will present ‘Celebrating 100’ a musical evening to celebrate the centenary years of Bollywood. Organised in collaboration with the Delhi Music Society- Aarohi, the event is yet another attempt to pay tribute to the 100 years of cinema but through melodious renditions of the music that has been an integral part of the Hindi film industry. Venue: Epicentre, Gurgaon on June 11. Time: 7.30 pm.


Sarod Recital by Sayak Barua from Durgapur, West Bengal, disciple of sarod exponent Amena Parera. Counted as one among the talented new generation of sarod players, Sayak is all set to entice Delhiites with his magical renditions on sarod. Venue: Annexe Lecture Room - II, India International Centre on June 10. Time: 6.30 pm.
