Saunak, Sunil, Katti spur Vijaya

Half-centuries from Saunak and Sunil combined with Anand P Katti’s six-wicket haul helped Vijaya Cricket Club overwhelm Rajajinagar Cricketers by 81 runs in the KSCA Group I, Division III tournament for the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield.

Batting first, Vijaya CC posted a competitive 201/5 in 55 overs with Saunkak’s 82 and Sunil’s 56 as the highlights of the innings.

TK Ananth claimed 4/62 while Sharath (2/36) and HB Raghuveer (2/66) scalped two wickets apiece for Rajajinagar.

Chasing 202 for victory, Rajajinagar were bundled out for 120 in 31 overs. Katti was the chief architect of the collapse as he returned figures of 6/44 while Prasanna Patil took 4/61.
